Winter in Florida

Salosa, our boat, was gone for a bit receiving some TLC, but since she’s been back, we’ve enjoyed several wonderful and relaxing boat rides. Doug and I took her out the Friday she arrived home, about 2 weeks ago.

As soon as we hit the water, a school of dolphins started playing behind the boat, jumping in the wake. Jimmy Buffet,  a cold beer and being with Doug is one of my favorite things to do. The amount of gratitude, peace and joy the comes over me when we’re boating, and when I’m with my favorite people is overwhelming sometimes. I’m in such a different head space out there. As we cruise along, I look out on the vast bay, and I’m inspired everytime. I think about all the things I’m grateful for. I dream. I get excited about my future, and think about the goals I’ve set for myself. I watch the girls enjoy time together and I feel so much love for them. I love watching Doug have fun and relax too. The downtime, relaxation and inspiration the boat and the bay gifts me with, propels me into the week. The balance between work and play is important to me, and I’m thankful that I love both play and work.

After the girls were done with school for the day, Melissa brought them to the boat dock where we picked them up. They hopped aboard, and then we spent the rest of the afternoon cruising around the bay.

I love winter’s in Florida.

Since that day, we’ve enjoyed 2  consecutive weekends on the water, with stops to Bahama Breeze for lunch, lots of dolphin encounters (I think they’re out more in the winter), and time with friends. And, the sound system Doug installed sounds amazing, as it plays Christmas music.

Happy winter!
