Today you graduated preschool. You’ve been looking forward to your graduation ceremony for a few weeks now. Last night when you had “boy talk” with Daddy (because he’s a boy) before bed, you made sure he was well informed of the details of the event before attending the ceremony. You told him where he could locate Ginger the pet guinea pig and advised him to wash his hands after petting. You made sure he knew where the restrooms were located in case of a need to use. You also picked and laid out your outfit and got Dad’s opinion on shoes. Then as Daddy was walking down the stairs you called for him again to remind him to get direction from me on how to get to the school. You wanted us to be well prepared for your special day.
When we arrived at the little chapel on the preschool campus, we were greeted by Mia, Aunt Emmy and Uncle Frank and Aunt Crystal in the parking lot. I think you brought the biggest crowd. Daddy brought his big professional HD camera and was set up and ready to go about 30 min. prior.
Then we got to view a slideshow of pictures of you and your friends in class throughout the year. That was tough to get through. There was no way to hold back the tears. Absolutely no way. You’re growing up way too fast, but we are excited for the many exciting things in life that you will experience and accomplish.
While viewing the slideshow I was able to catch a glimpse of how much fun you experienced with your friends learning and playing. Some of your favorite friends in preschool are Alex, Hannah, Jace, Angelica, Falon and Malachi. After the slideshow you received your diploma then performed the Alphabet song.
Then, one at a time, each one of you got to walk down the center aisle before collecting the diploma. You’re beautiful.
Afterwards we took one million pictures of you with your friends and family
Then it was time to say good-bye. Goodbye to this chapter in your life. Last night before you went to bed you said, ” Goodbye Ginger. Goodbye Mrs. Sonnenberg. Goodbye chairs. Goodbye table. Goodbye friends. Goodbye playground. Goodbye preschool”.
After graduation we went to lunch with the family and you got to open a bunch of graduation gifts. Tomorrow night is our special family celebration and you get to choose the restaurant.
It was a great day. Daddy and I are very excited for you as you start a new chapter of your life in kindergarten. I know you’ll meet a lot of new friends and that you’ll excel in whatever you do. Sara, you are outgoing, thoughtful, creative, detail oriented, beautiful inside and out and you always have a plan. I love you so much!!
